Donating organs and tissue
Unlike blood and bone marrow, you can be any age to register as an organ and tissue donor. Also unlike blood and bone marrow, you don’t usually donate your organs and tissue until after you die.

By joining the NHS Organ Donor Register you could give someone an amazing gift after you die – the gift of life. As well as joining the register, you should always talk about your wishes with your family so that they know exactly what you want to happen.

How could my organs and tissue help other people when I die?

Donated organs and tissue from one donor can save the life of several people, restore the sight of two others and improve the quality of life of many more.

If you think being an organ donor is right for you, it’s important to tell your family. By choosing to join the NHS Organ Donor Register you could help to make sure life goes on for many others.

The more people who pledge to donate their organs and tissue after their death, the more people will benefit.
